My Best Friend

Our Savior, Jesus Christ, not only created many worlds, this earth being one, but he created our bodies.  He created, with Father in Heaven as an overseer, everything on this earth, which was meant for the use of man.  He is my best friend.  He is Almighty and powerful, omnipotent and all seeing, but He still has time for me.  He finds the time, through His Holy Ghost, to comfort me, and console me.  He brings me peace, and joy.  He makes me smile and forget all my problems of the day.  He has mercy on me, and is forgiving of my wrongdoings.  He is very understanding.  He has so much love,  He has it for all of us, and there's much more leftover. He gives us love to love our families and friends,  even our pets.  He came to this earth 2011 years ago, to satisfy the need we had for a Redeemer.  Without Him, we would be filthy with sin and would never be able to return to He and Father after our earth life.  We would have died spiritually as well as temporaly.

Amulek from the Book of Mormon states:  Alma 34: 8-9   ..."I do know that Christ shall come among the children of men, to take upon him the transgressions of His people, and that He shall atone for the sins of the world; for the Lord God hath spoken it.  For it is expedient that an atonement should be made; for according to the great plan of the Eternal God there must be an atonement made. or else all mankind must unavaoidably perish; yea, all are hardened; yea, all are fallen and lost, and must perish except it be through the atonement which is expedient should be made."

Because He, God, came to this earth as a man, lived His life as a perfect being, and suffered horribly for all of our sins, we are able to return to Him for eternity.  He bled from each pore as He endured the pressure and pain from all of our sins.  I know many of the pores that He bled were for me, and my sins.  He was taken from the Garden of Gethsemane, and beaten with whips that had iron balls with spikes on it, more than thirty times.  He was spat upon, scorned, and jeered at.  He was given in mockery a crown of thorns, thrust upon His head to ridicule, and He bled.  He was made to lug His own means of His death, a heavy cross, to His death place on Calvary.  They hammered His hands and feet to the cross, while He spake nothing.  They gave Him vinegar stuck to a long stick to apply to His parched lips and drink as they laughed and ridiculed Him.  They mocked and called Him "King of the Jews".

He was an innocent man.  He was a perfect man, and had done nothing wrong.  All He offered us, was peace and love.  He even loved the men who put Him to death, asking Father to forgive them because they didn't comprehend what they were doing.  And He lives!!  And He's there for all of us, to heal us, to show us miracles, to wipe away our tears, and to hold us when we're lonely.  We just need to ask for His help.   He's ready whenever we are, and He will never turn us down, or tell us to wait a minute.  He's always there for us, and eager to show us He cares.  I love Him with all my heart, and I just wanted to describe to you how much He means to me and inform you of His undying and unselfish love and mercy He has upon us.

My question of concern to you would be:

What are you doing about your eternity?  Do you remember to walk this life with an eternal perspective?  Is Jesus Christ your living Savior, do you carry his image in your countenance? And have you made our Father in Heaven your best friend and confidante?  If the answer to these questions are "no", I would then ask you to observe your life, and check it.  Remember the love of the Savior and the mercy that He extends to all of His children.  He loves your personally, and knows of your existence, hence, every little thought, and loves you anyway!!  He was willing to bleed and die for our sins, and atone as a sacrifice for us, so we may live our eternity richly and joyously.  Remember that kindness and service, faith, and hope, and forgiveness are some of the keys.  This is the way to live our lives as Alma stated in the Book of Mormon from Alma 7:23:  " And now I would that ye should be humble, and be submissive and gentle, easy to be entreated; full of patience and long-suffering; being temperate in all things; being diligent in keeping the commandments of God at all times; asking for whatsoever things ye stand in need, both spiritual and temporal; always returning thanks unto God for whatsoever things ye do receive."   And from 2 Nephi 31:20:  "Wherefore, ye most press forward with a steadfastness in Christ, having a perfect brightness of hope and a love of God and of all men.  Wherefore, if ye shall press forward, feasting upon the word of Christ and endure to the end, behold, this saith the Father:  Ye shall have eternal life."  This is a promise from the Almighty Maker of Heaven and Earth, the Originator of Creation, the powerful, and omnipotent, Heavenly Father, whose heart oozes with tender mercy, love, and forgiveness for all of our sins.   Please remember He is always there, along with our Savior, to help us and guide us.  If you haven't found the Book of Mormon yet, I urge you to do so, and the Lord will awaken you out of a deep sleep, and you will awake unto God.   I humbly ask you to try it, and you will find more love than you have ever known.  I also ask you to review 'General Conference", which was on October 1st and 2nd.  http://lds.org/general-conference?lang=eng  You will find messages of hope and lovingkindness, and joy and encouragement.  I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen

My Conversion

This is an especially hard topic for me to write about, the memories are extremely tender and very hard to explain. But it all starts like this:  My boyfriend and I lived together with our two children, and had a bad way of making money.  Trust me about this without going into details, it involved truckloads of marijuana and other items similar.  He was eventually caught and he and I were thrown in jail, and our children, 6 months and 1 yr., were taken from us because I couldn't care for them in jail.  They put 1 Million dollar bond on each of our heads.  I was taken in because I was acquainted with him only, hoping to get out more info from me.  They wanted 20 - life for him.  Previously, I had played around with the Book of Mormon that my husband's mother had sent, reading it and finding much peace when I read it.  So, in jail, the only Bible I had available to me was the New Testament, of which I love as well, and read over and over.  The Holy Ghost visited me and gave me faith that all would be well.  One day as I was in my cell studying, I asked the Lord, "This is great to learn of you, now what church should I attend."  The letters very clearly came into my head, "L-D-S".  I didn't know what this meant, so I wrote the letters down and asked my boyfriend at our conjugal visit together, "The Lord told me to join a church that is LDS".  Immediately my boyfriend smiled with joy and stated , "That is my old church, the Mormon church, it stands for Latter Day Saints!"  He had been inactive for 30 years, and we both decided to rejoin after we were released from jail.  I was inspired, but I imagined myself with a bun on my head and pioneer clothing, thinking this was the customary dress!!  Not true however!!  (Now not everyone will receive letters in your mind, or even voices, but you will feel the spirit of the Lord, by joy, or by warmth in your heart,or other ways, to testify that this is the true church upon studying and praying.) 2 1/2 months later, I was let go free, married my boyfriend in prison, and my husband had a miracle of only having to serve 5 years.  I immediately went to the children, and  had them blessed, and I started on Missionary lessons.  When my husband returned home, we waited a year, and then were sealed forever with our children for time and eternity.  That was 22 years ago, and the rest is history.  I now have a strong testimony that our Savior Jesus Christ is our God, our Master, and our Redeemer.  He atoned for our sins, so we may reside with our Father in Heaven and Him again.  They are both alive and know each one of us individually, what we think, each mili-second, and why we think it.  They are both all powerful, almighty,  and full of great, great, love.  They care about each one of us every second of the day, and they are there for us to confide in.  I love the Holy Ghost, the comforter, and communicator for Jesus Christ.  I love being guided daily by the Holy Ghost, and am lost without Him.  I love receiving revelations from the Holy Ghost, and I love learning the mysteries of the Universe.   I know we have a true prophet on this earth today, Thomas S. Monson, who lives and guides us and is a revelator for the world.  I am grateful for the Book of Mormon, and read it in the morning and at night, finding comfort, and insight in the precious words it depicts.  I am thankful for all my blessings, for my children, and for my church and church family, the true church, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  And I say these things in the name of my precious Savior, Jesus Christ.  Amen

Why I am blogging:

I am blogging because I wish to tell everyone that Jesus Christ is alive, and His gospel is what everyone needs to succeed on this earth.  This earth is like a testing ground, and we are placed here to determine in what kingdom we will live the rest of our eternity.  Some will live in an existence similar to this earth, some, a little higher, some in outer darkness, (terrible), and some will be lifted to the highest expectations and live in a Celestial Kingdom with the Lord, our Savior, and our Heavenly Father, and our families, if we so choose.  What you do NOW matters, and it's all your choice on how you live your life.  The closer you get to the Lord, and live His commandments, the better the kingdom.  And how can you start?  By reading the Book of Mormon, another testament of Jesus Christ.  Now, in the Book of Mormon, there is a promise in Moroni 10, 3-5 that explains to you, that if you read this book, and ponder it and study it out, then get on your knees and pray, you will positively know that it is a true book of God.  The Holy Ghost will come to you and prove to you that what you have read is the absolute truth.  The next step is, you conform your life to live the commandments of our Savior, and you get baptized.  This is the first step to being able to enjoy the highest exaltation in the eternities.    It's a choice that you need to make for the rest of your life.  So how you live your life on the earth matters, how you treat others, and how you love the Lord.  Make it count.  And I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
